The instructor will demonstrate the use of web-based tools to design and analyze horizontal overhangs and other window shading systems for residential and commercial buildings, and general shading and heat gain-related strategies will be discussed.
This course may be useful for architects, interior designers, engineers, green builders, and DIY homeowners. We will also go over the LEED for Homes Passive Solar Credit and Passive Solar in Remrate.

Christopher is a freelance consultant in the renewable energy and green building fields, and has taught green building design and solar energy courses at the college level, and for a national green building certification program. Christopher served as Technical Information Director at the International Institute for Energy Conservation in the early 1990s, was the co-founder of the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology, and has served in many leadership positions for non-profit organizations in the sustainable energy field. Christopher is also a programmer and graphic designer, and specializes in the creation of online learning and analytical tools in the renewable energy field.
