As a skills-based volunteer, we are looking to help you promote your ideas on making homes and buildings better. As such we have weekly Wednesday CE free webinar events that you can get involved in. - *By checking this box, I understand, confirm, and agree that: (a) Green Home Institute ("GHI") does not own the rights, and will not make any claim, to the course and educational related content and material that I am submitting to GHI and any subsequent presentation thereof by me, all of which are owned by me ("Material"); (b) I grant to GHI a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, distribute, publish, rebroadcast, and/or otherwise make available ("Use") the Materials; (c) I am submitting and presenting as a skills-based volunteer ("SBV"); (d) as an SBV and owner of the Materials, I am solely responsible and liable for (i) the content, accuracy, correctness, reliability, sufficiency, and usefulness ("Content") of the Materials, (ii) complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and (iii) any protection and enforcement of the rights in the Materials; (e) My course will be available for free during the live event and will be hosted on GHI's YouTube channel for at least two years and is presently intended to be available for viewing at no cost; (f) My Materials may be hosted on various non-GHI sites, media, and mediums ("Non-GHI Sites") including the USGBC education channel at http://www.usgbc.org/organizations/greenhome-institute?view=courses and Blue House Energy https://bluehouseenergy.com/courses/available-courses to help further share the information and garner more attention; (g) Any revenue or consideration derived from the Materials including on any such non-GHI Sites may be retained and used by GHI for any purposes including to help cover the costs of continuing education maintenance fees, site hosting fees, marketing and promotion, and supporting GHI's education budget to continue promoting courses and best in class green building education; (h) GHI shall have no liability or responsibility whatsoever to me or any other person or entity for or on account of any injury, loss, or damage (including for any consequential, incidental, indirect, direct, exemplary, special, or punitive damages) arising out of or in connection with the Materials including (without limitation) their use or the reliance on the Content of such Materials; (i) I will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GHI (and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives) against all losses, liabilities, claims, damages, actions, fines, penalties, expenses, or costs (including court costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with any third-party claim, suit, action, or proceeding relating in any way to the Materials, and GHI's Use of the Materials, including (without limitation) any third party claim based on infringement, misappropriation, or other violation of any intellectual property rights or other personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity arising out of such Use; (j) It is my responsibility, and not GHI's, to protect and enforce the rights in the Materials as I deem necessary; (k) Nothing between me and GHI shall be construed to create or constitute a partnership, joint venture, or any other agency or employment relationship between us; and (l) The MP4 video recording created may be given to me and used however I wish.
